Sportsmobile vrs Tiger?

I was wondering if anyone considered a Tiger from Provan http://www.tigermotorhomes.com/overview.htm before purchasing a Sportsmobile? I like them both, and waver from one to the other.

We looked at the Tiger and several other rigs seriously but rejected most of them account of GCWR.
The SMB has plenty of towing capability not found in many other combinations.
"Trophy Brides" health was also a major consideration.

have you also looked into a truck camper?

i have considered the truck camper, tiger and the sportsmobile.
i like the sportsmobile b/c of the three it fits in a regular parking space (downtown/urban setting, inclusion of the cab area, internal passageway between cab/rear quarters,

factors i like of the tc or tiger is the already built in 4x4 system (versus aftermarket), more 'truck' like chassis versus that of the van chassis, NO doghouse, thus less heat/noise,

on the tc, i like idea of removable camper (sort of setting up a home base), but dislike idea of no internal passageway between cab/camper like on the tiger...

thus one reason i like tiger, but to get the crew cab tiger would make unit too long/large, have given it some consideration but what i want leads me back to smb....

mainly have to ability to transform the smb from a camper to daily driver to daddy mobile....

Good points smb4me.ÂÂ* Actually I already have a truck camper: a 2006 F250 short bed 4X4 crew cab and a Northstar 650 popup camper.ÂÂ* It works pretty well, especially considering the cost verses the smb or Tiger, but it does have its shortcomings. It doesn't work well off-road, can't access couch thru the cab, etc.

Despite many truck campers claim that their truck camper is "off-road" the fact is many are not made well enough for off-road use, too heavy, and do not always fit on the truck securely.ÂÂ* The one possible exception is the Four Wheel camper, which I am also considering.

We are three travelers, two adults and a 7-year-old, so the camper I have can get tight at times.ÂÂ* Also, it seems I have to baby the rig so much when off-road I've almost given up going off the highway.ÂÂ* I could probably do more mods to it, but I'd rather invest in a smb, Tiger, or Four Wheel camper.

I'll look at the RV.NET thread. Thanks!

The Xplorer Motorhome is nice, but I'm trying to keep the price around $100K or less. This is a quote from the xplorer web page:
Quote:
He calls the Earth Roamer made in Broomfield, Colo., his main competition in this niche market and says the Xplorer will compare favorably in price.
Which means over $200K.
