04’F-250 as 4x4 donor to 06’ E-350?
'04 F-250 Super Duty 6.0 4x4, a donor for my '06 E-350 6.0?
I have first right of refusal on a '04 F-250 Super Duty 4x4 with blown motor.
This to convert my '06 E-350 Super Duty 6.0. To 4wd.
Considering the lift on the F-250 that accommodates 35x12.5x17 tires etc would it be right to assume I'd have most of what I need to do the conversion? I do know I can pick up any and all additional needed parts.
I’m interested to know if I can, with modification use the donor's lift, springs, t-case, running gear etc.?
Would I use the front and rear axle to keep the ratios the same etc?
The more I read I guess it wouldn’t be necessary to change out the rear axle? Would the gears out of the truck differential work in the van differential? Since my primary goal is snow and road comfort in the Rockies in winter and not four wheeling, any reason not to just leave the rear end with the springs and all, but making sure the ratios are the same ?. Would certainly save a lot of work I guess.
Would I need to swap out the transmission?
Thanks in advance for any input.
