Adding 4wd to a used SMB - opinions/options, worthwhile?
OK, getting closer and closer to getting my hands on a SMB, but I'm still on the fence about 2wd vs 4wd. I'm currently leaning towards getting a low mileage 2wd and seeing how it goes w/ upgraded/sized A/T tires and the factory limited slip and possibly a lift kit from Action Van. The nice thing about this route is I know the van will have only been on-road w/ no 4wheelin miles.
My big ? is, if I do need the 4wd option, Advanced 4wd is 1 hr away from me - how do they stack up against say Quadvan or SK? I would only want the 4wd for bad/rough roads no hard core 4wheelin, thats what the mtn bike is for...
Am I foolish to go this route? It sems like the used 2wd vans can be had substantially less, even after you factor the 10-15k 4wd upcharge, and if I do add the 4wd afterwards it couldstill be had for a few $$ less - right?
Yes, in a perfect world I would go for a SMB 4x4, but the wife has given me the OK for a SMB but not for what the SMB 4x4's are going for even, used.
Thanks for the feedback
