Oh, poser clips. Just pull them off and put them in your recovery gear bag, problem solved.. Never understood why people want them out in the open rusting the threads.

For looks of course! Just like those never used traction boards and high lift jacks hanging off every Jeep in the mall parking lot.

Front end alignment:
2003 E350 EB 4X4 (Quigley) 7.3 SMB 2001 F350 4X4 front end.
I just had the front end aligned (after hitting a rock, big rock which mis-aligned sterring from --- to / ) it tracked str8 and no issues driving home.
Had alignment every thing fine. Did about 100 miles on rocky road returned to pavement and the wheel position was back to / from ---.
QUESTION: do you think there might be another issue not being addressed with this alignment problem? Again it tracks fine no issue driving home from Utah to Burbank, CA.
Like to hear some thoughts if you think there is another cause.

You might want to start a new thread, but that's really odd. Did the rock bend the tie rod?, did the shop straighten it? Is it bent again? Could the pitman arm be loose on the sector shaft? Is the steering box loose on the frame?

As for the OP's original issue, I had a bad rattle that took a long time to find, but it turned out a shock mounting hole was wallowed out and the mounting bolt was rattling around. It actually happened twice, once in the rear and once in the front.

So, tracks straight with hands off the wheel and no crosswinds but the steering wheel is not level? Or is it something else?

Edit - ah the --- and /
now I understand lol!

Arctic has a good question re the tie rod and if it bent. Did they straighten or just "lengthen" by using the threaded ends?

Took my 2003 E350 4X4 7.3 SMB back to the front end shop. The tech realigned the front end and asked if I hit anything? bumps, rocks etc. I did bottom out entering a wash-out. It was a firm hit but I did not think anything of it. He said the prior adjustment he did was knocked lose. He stated the torque used to secure the adjusted front-end components should not have moved unless extreme force was applied to the front end. I can only deduce that the contact I made was more severe than it felt. He did comment that the tries were wearing down and impacting the adjustments so we rotated the tries. Steering is normal. The test will be tomorrow as I'm planning a quick 3 day trip to the eastern Sierra - Lone Pine, Big Pine, Bishop and Mammoth area's. Then ordering new tires (BFG K02), Current tire mileage is 62,000.
