Re: An Unsatisfied Deaver Spring Customer

By removing the track bar from the equation, you will feel it as soon as you go over a speed bump or go through a gutter if it gets softer.
If the track bar needs to be longer or shorter you need to change where it's mounted as well as change the length, either at the frame or the axle.

Next will be to remove the shocks and go for a drive. See how stiff they make the ride.

I'm talking about the front end leaf springs. There has been some confusion later on in the thread.

If any one would like to know more i would love to share how i did it.

I will be going back up to Deaver next Monday to have adjustments made to my setup. I'll report back.

What were your issues? Still considering driving down there to get a set but worried that it might not work out great for a Quigley setup.

I thought Quigleys were coil springs and Deavers are leaf springs.

Yes at the front, but we are talking about rear springs on Quigleys....

Re: An Unsatisfied Deaver Spring Customer

I kind of thought that after I had already replied. I guess after the discussion about front sway bars and track bars, etc. I was lost in the conversation.

Re: An Unsatisfied Deaver Spring Customer

I was talking about the front end Deaver leaf springs. I don't have a rear sway bar and don't think it's necessary for my rig. But if it rides smoother without it and you like it great.

As far as Quigley's go. Good luck getting them to ride good. There is so much wrong with every one of those rigs I've seen, I would tear it all out and throw in a ujoint kit. You only have to buy the hangers, front springs, shocks, and maybe brake lines. Have someone install it or do it yourself in a weekend. Get it aligned and your down the highway driving in comfort and off road you'll finally have some wheel travel and give your bump stops a rest.
