My bad, it was only for eligible tires - BFG's not covered. Kind of a gimmick really cause you had to pay $200 for full installation add on's, but it ended 4/23. NTB quote was $859 of which Discount matched minus the $90 credit plus their full hazard add on was like $875 out the door with tax. Good deal I thought.

No worries. The margin on tires is extremely low. Seems the best deals they can offer is using rebates and the visa card. Still, with wheels and tires it's worth waiting for a sale. But shyte I considered going to 18" wheels and it's a difference in $200 on top of what the same tires/wheels would cost in 17". Good to hear you're liking the newer BFGs. Looking like my next tire.

Me, too. I've always liked the BFG TKO's, particularly from the perspective of a Colorado mountain resident. They perform great in snow and on icy roads, as well as dirt/gravel/rocks. However... last time I ran them on my K2500 GMC p/u, they wore out FAST - I think I only got about 40k miles. Shared this observation with friends who had big diesel trucks, and they concurred that they didn't last long in the heavy weight/high torque application. I've been told the KO2 has a more firm tread compound, so I hope these last a little longer. Lately, though, I've read great reviews about the Coopers, such as this https://expeditionportal.com/where-t...eets-the-road/. I'm eager to hear how they hold up for my fellow big-van owners, and will give them more consideration next time. One thing I just don't think any other tire manufacturer competes with is the sidewall thickness/strength of the BFG's. "Big deal", you might say, until you rip sidewalls on rocks, roots, or the like. You only have to do that once to never forget it...

Oddly enough; while travelling throughout Baja this winter I met quite a few Europeans running the same tire on their rigs (LR Defenders/Iveco 4x4/VW LT40). Apparently in EU the ST MAXX's have a great reputation and are popular despite being manufactured in USA .....
Another vote for the ST Maxx. I have about 15K on my set. I think they are a very good tire. Mine are wearing very well and are quiet on the road. I had a set of the Discoverer S/T on my Dodge Cummins truck and had great luck with those as well.

Unfortunately, similar to the Goodyear Duratrac the ST/Maxx is not available E-rated in 35's on a 17" rim. Not surprising that they garner good reviews on Portal. Cooper is a huge advertiser there but I haven't read many negatives either.

I'm glad to hear of some 'quiet' comments on the ST Maxx. I really like that tire. I just bought ATII's for my motorhome and hope it wasn't a mistake!

Still getting to know my new BFG KM2 255/85/16. These are about 1.5" taller than the AT's I was running but no rubbing with a Camburg lift. Only 2wd but I like the taller look. A little road noise compared to the AT's but it's a 6.0 so already a little on the noisy side.
