It might not hurt to call Eddie at Quadvan. He offers Bilsteins as an upgrade over his normal shocks, so even though his 4x4 setup is different, the travel is probably close to the same as the SMB 4x4 system, and he probably knows which models to buy. You might even be able to buy them through Quadvan.

www.eshocks.com is about the cheapest I've found. Bought one set from them a year back. Went smoothly.

A purely internet-based business can be hit and miss. I've had some great luck, but I've also had some terrible customer service.

I bought some towing gear from eTrailer, but when one of the items stopped working properly after less than 30 days, their response was more or less "deal with the manufacturer and their warranty yourself".

Bilsteins Contact

Contact the factory for a nation wide Distributor Base . Upon contact with this company make sure to ask if they PHYSICALLY STOCK THE ITEM DESIRED !
or do they drop ship from the manufacturer . One can save a lot of anxious waiting on goods that may or may not have been shipped as promised .

Plus making sure they're in stock saves on the 20% re-stocking fee for a special order.

Bilstein

Hi Bob in Tuscon

Do you have "Camping World " in Arizona? IF not, I think they have a website on line in Kentucky someplace. Not all their items are listed on-line.

They have Bilsteins as specials sometimes too.

Hello Pete,

Yes we have Camping World here in Tucson. I called them after I saw your reply on the " SWAY" thread. I told them what I wanted which are the models you have which is what Quigley told me to get. They told me they are not a match and would have to check with Bilstein. Of course they also wanted to know the application . So here we go again. It's a what? A Ford V10 SportsMobile 4x4. Say again, a whaaaat!!!!!!!!???????.
They gave me a price on the rears. I'm waiting for the call back on the fronts. After they check with Bilstein.
I still have a month till I take my baby out again. Heading to Silverton for the Hardrock 100 Endurance Run. I'll probably order the shocks before next weekend for sure though. I'm still dealing with my propane leak.
Thank you for your help.

The thing about the Old Man EMU's and previously the Rancho 9000's I believe, is that they are more or less dialed and valved more or less for this rig. How do you know if you just get off the shelf Bilstein's what valving, etc? Or is it just hit/miss and hope they work well?

would be interested to hear from anyone who has Bilsteins. Better quality shock for sure, but maybe not valved right for the SMB.
