Bilsteins Contact
I ran into a very nice young man at the Sand Sports Super Show by the name of Shane Casad . He is the After Market Sale Manager for Bilstein and was upset that I had opted to use the The Fox Brand , I explained that My contact with Bilstein was uneventful so I opted for the Fox . He came out to my SportsMobile and crawled around looking at my set up and said that he could provide the shocks for our unit's and that he had worked with a SportsMobiles in the recent past and was anxious to service other's . He can be reached at shane.casad@bilstein.com
Phone number(800) 537-1085 Apparently all Coil Spring Application's are a basic plug and play , Leaf Springs he said that he would work with the vehicle on an individual basis . That is a lot more commitment
to service than I had received in my previous attempt's .

Good timing. I contacted Bilstein to get valve rates and they were very helpful. They were aware of Sportsmobile, which was nice. My shocks (10" short body, res) arrived not five minutes ago. I must say, the fit and finish is top notch. Each shock is individually marked with the model and the valve rate. In addition, the shocks came with res clamps (I had purchased some seperately a while back in anticipation of buying rezie shocks. Oh well, I've got extras now) and shock spacer bushings. They look great and I can't wait to start the install process. I wish I could afford their upper-end shocks (coilovers and by-pass) for my buggy, but way too much $ for my tired wallet. A side by side comparision to my similar Fox shocks, tips the scales towards the Bilsteins. Stainless braided res lines like on my Fox Pros. Me likes.
PS: You bite for getting to go to the sand sports show. I was in Indy, at a conference.

Bilsteins Shocks
deminimis ,
I have used the Bilstein's for over twenty five years and have always had good service out them . I went with the Fox on the SportsMobile as a result of their customer service and the willingness to valve according to my parameters . Now that I have met Shane and had him look over our conversion layout I will be changing as soon as the Fox shock's wear out . I glad that you are pleased with your new addition . I would LOVE to put some of their Race unit's on the Van they are really amazing .

I'm a fan of both makes. Here's a pic of the shocks I just got for the front on my buggy (10", 2.5 Internal bypass, dual rate springs). The new cost for one is more than my monthly mortgage payment, but I got two with springs, perfectly sprung and valved for my buggy for less than the price of one (used for mock up only). I couldn't resist. I'm a shock whore:

Greggde, thanks for Shane's e-mail address. Forwarded it on to some buggy folks that had Bilstein fitment issues. He took care of them.
