Thanks for the Tip! I have a heat gun, and was considering acetone or something like that to get off the residue...I will look into the wet sand method.

I saw your conversion on that GTRV and love it. I would love to do something similar to this rig eventually, - Snow traction is the immediate concern, but more clearance and 4wd are in this vans future.

The GTRV was for a customer in Park City, UT - SNOW had something to do with his need, that and all the beautiful out of doors to explore. He really enjoys his GTRV and gets asked about it all the time.

P.s. He has the same air conditioner that you do, but hidden behind the custom Aluminess boxes we had made - turned out great.

Ramsey, I don't want to hijack but do you have any pics of that? I would love to see that box as this is a setup I've thought about for a long time.

Thanks

We have a 2wd van and use it in the winter mainly for skiing. We got a full spare set of wheels and mounted up Blizzak dedicated snow/ice tires. We got winter tires rather than AT tires because they have better snow and ice traction. They work very well for plowed snow and ice. We carry Les Schwab "quick-fit" tire chains, and don't hesitate to put them on if the snow is piling up. We do have limited slip, but have to turn off traction control to make that effective. If your van has RSC, the limited slip may not add much snow traction.

For the ultimate winter traction, Nokian studded is reported to be the best way to go. We live below the snow zone, so we went studless.
