I got the left side off and it was reverse thread. The right side is a PIA but I’m not sure if it’s reverse thread or not. Does anyone know if that right side would also be reverse thread?
I have the exact same question. I watched a YouTube video yesterday where the guy said the part that has the reverse thread is marked with an "L" (for "left-hand thread"). I haven't confirmed this yet. Do you find this letter stamped or molded into any of the parts involved?
I have a 2006 super duty axle out here in the garage if it will help i can go take it off to see. I know the draglink side is reverse thread. But im thinking the tierod side of the sleeve is right hand thread because i removed the draglink yesterday.. They have to be opposite thread for the sleeve to work properly when adjusting it.
I went out in the garage and removed the threaded sleeve on this axle and it is standard right hand thread on the tierod side with left hand threads on the draglink side.
@scrapiron that is for checking. That’s what I was thinking that it had to be right hand thread to make it work. Okay I’ll go back out and can use some more heat and force to get it loosened up.
