warholic,

I agree with you completely.
I did the work myself, its not to hard.

The job was easy to do with the PDF I downloaded from Dynatrac's website.

After the Valley of fire meet I told SMB of the problem. Alan was having the same problem you guys were and SMB had quit installing them. I guess many who had these were having problems. Up until then I was glad I had not switched from Warn. Please report back how the dynatrac fix is working as I might switch to these down the road.

Dave,

We will see how they work when we have the meet and 4 wheeling trip at the end of the month. I have locked them in several time and unlocked the rear end and everything is working good.

Talk to you later,
Woody

Re: Dynatrac's Dynaloc hubs, problem and fix

Hey dave -

see my earlier post .... but works prefectly now ... no problems at all. Smooth as butter.
I didn't talk to Dynatrac - the 4 wheel parts tech did ... but I was standing there ... it's clear to me it is a design flaw and their engineers have come up with the fix, which is the brass sleeve.

Should have been that all along probably .... and parts were free so you know they recognize it as a defect and are willing to correct it.

Re: Dynatrac's Dynaloc hubs, problem and fix

I think it's a good design, mostly after the design problem has been resolved. I like the idea that if you wipeout the end of the hub while 4 wheeling it stays locked into 4 wheel drive. I wouldn't hesitate to order them again.

I've been a beta tester enough that I kinda want to see how these work under heavy conditions and time. I have only had one failure with the Warn hubs and it didn't cause me any off road trouble. Ball Joints are another thing. I'm willing to try these out
http://www.dynatrac.com/products/freesp ... oints.html
But if I have problems with my hubs again, I'll go for it.
