Re: Heavy Truck 4WD Training in Moab with Bill Burke

Very nice photos...

Just a quickie that would be a Range Rover not a Defender, no?

SMB look at home on this terrain

Saabman, you are right, it is a Range Rover. I was watching one of Bill's DVDs and it features his Defender, so it got stuck in my brain.

Then again, to me there are only three types of cars ithat I recognize in this neck of the woods, pickup trucks, Sportsmobiles and Subarus. It's like the Montana fish classification system; trout, whales and trash fish.

Re: Heavy Truck 4WD Training in Moab with Bill Burke

Strangley enough, I met Bill Burke on Saturday at a friends BBQ in Fruita. Very nice and funny guy! He mentioned that he plans on doing a similar large vehicle 4x4 class in Steamboat Springs, possibly later this year. Small world.

Bill and his wife live in Fruita, though I believe they plan on moving to North Carolina. That is a small world.

Great write up Ed. Thanks so much. Great pics also. We all sure had a great time. Bill Burk's class was great. I learned so much including that there is no way I can lift my van to change a tire with a high lift jack. I had all my weight on the handle and the SMB would not budge.

Is Bill Burk in Fruita Ut or Fruita CO?

Colorado. It's next to Grand Junction, CO, and an easy drive to Moab by the way.

Yep, takes me an hour and 15 minutes to get to Moab from my house.
