Surprising. As a non-wear item, many ECM's are replaced in error (or along the chain of diagnosis) but every once and a while they poop the bed. Glad to hear you're back up and running!

I replaced mine for exactly the same $... mechanic suspected ants got in it. We have a tiny black ant here (Pharaoh Ants) that is unstoppable and infests places that seem illogical as ant-friendly... places like engines of vans.
