Did you replace with OE or a shorter one? If shorter what did you get? I'd love to deal with this issue as well.

joe,
This work was preformed by Sunrise Ford North Hollywood, CA
SMB arrived Aug. 12, 2021 Ready Sept. 9, 2021
Tech reported:
Upon inspection found P Brake pad under 1mm. The p Brake hardware need to be replaced. This required removing rear axles. Replaced p brake shoes. Adjusted rear rotors. Test drove 5 times Parking brake holding when applied.

IT'S INTERESTING THAT THE SERVICE ADVISOR "BRUNO" TOLD ME THE ISSUE
WAS THE CABLE BETWEEN THE CAB AND BRAKE ASSEMBLY. THE NON-ADJUSTABLE CABLE. THE TECH DID NOT MENTION THAT IN HIS SUMMARY.
DO I THINK I GOT SCREWED BY FORD...YES I DO. IT'S DONE AND IF I FEEL ONE LITTLE SLIP I'M GOING TO VISITING FORD.
ONE OF THE MAJOR FACTORS IS THE AGE OF MY E350, 18 YEARS AND THEY ARE NOT FAMILIARY WITH THAT OLDER VEHICLE. I HAD THEM DO IT SO I WOULD HAVE SOMEONE TO RETURN TO IF ANY THING GOES AWRY I HAVE FORD IN MY SIGHTS.
IT DOES HOLD. FOR THAT I AM GREATFUL BUT LIGHTER IN THE POCKET BOOK.

My new issue is replacing the front wheel bearings.
I have a 2003 E350 EB SMB 4X4 7.3 Quigley Dana 60
Quigley reported that I have a 2001 F350 4X4 unit.
It has replaceable wheel bearings which I plan to do as I have been very negligent in my preventive maintenance program.
Questions: what is the best source for the parts, are they Ford bearings that fit the
F350? Special stock numbers etc.?
what is the best grease to use
special tools
best advice
I have seen it done as i lost the right front hub in Colorado and hoping to prevent that from happening again.
I do carry a spare hub as I learned the hard way about the different bolt pattern. I don't have the bearing needed to replace the hub.
I'm open to all thoughts, ideas, recommendation.........................

Hub Bearing Replacement

Yes, then per Quigley, you’d source bearings for a 2001 F350
If you want an upgrade, check out the dynatrac free spin hub kit$, it replaces the unit bearings that are prone to wear and fail with serviceable bearings
