Just wanted to share this VSS/ABS info for anyone working on older vans. Breaks down the differences from early 90s to early 2000s setups

I was re-reading through some notes and saw this tidbit in the email from MG:

"After trimming, reinforcing the front of the cross member is recommended for vans that will see excessive off-roading."

Being that my van is a diesel and I do plan on taking it off road, what have some folks done to reinforce this?

My x-member is already slightly modified from the previous Advanced conversion (pic attached) - looks like the rear lip can just stay and the front will get cut off.

Anyone interested in the full conversion kit? MG kit, 2014 f350 4.30 axles, nuts, shackle flip, VSS, rear fuel tank, etc. Fairly certain I have everything needed, other than the time to do it... PM me if interested.

Hi all.. So what are you all using for bump stop in the rear? I got my hands on the SumoSprings bump stops for the fronts and curious what I should put in the back?

I should add that I will be putting a sterling 10.5 in the rear.

My up travel is limited by the 98-24-677 fox 2.0's I got used on here. I Need 4 or 4.5" bump stops to protect the shocks

What about you ?

How much lift were they running, and how much are you running? Could the axle go up higher but the engine or crossmember is in the way?

@desertsherpa I’m in somewhat the same position in that I’m still putting things together and was just curious what you all were using for bump stops in the rear.

I did look at several pics and it looks like folks are just using the stock bump stops in the rear.

I did go with the shackle flip like many folks have done.

You definitely don’t want the shocks to act as your bump stops. That much I know.

In the front I got the sumosprings that are mentioned in the thread. Still trying to figure out what to use in the rear for bump stops.

Are you looking for recommendations, or options? I don't have an MG conversion, but I do have rear Sumo Springs. I posted my impressions with some pics and details here:
