For the folks that installed the sterling 10.5 axle which spring perch hole did you use? I have the option on my spring perch to use the first hole to move the axle back an inch or use the stock/center hole.

Based on what I’m seeing I’m inclined to use the first hole and push the axle back an inch but thought I check and see what you folks did first.

What year truck and where is it located?

I have a guy who has like 20 trucks that I go through. If you can find exactly where they are, Iíll go pull one for you when I go there in a couple weeks.

Hi Fred, I donít have a photo but I mounted my sonís switch on the left side on the panel under the steering column. This location made it easy to run the wires down and back to the transfer case and get power to operate. Also this is where most put an indicator light showing the van in 4x4.

ank you. I appreciate it a lot. I started to look into alternative options but if I come up empty I will definitely ask you for some help.

The module 8C3T-14B205-AB in the instructions comes from the 2008 F250. But module 8C3T-14B205-AB is a part Ford used in 2008 to 2010 (I believe) in their F250 and F350. The module is inside the cab under the dash somewhere. I donít know specifically where. If you can find it and pull it along with the connectors (leave 4Ē-6Ē of wire), I suspect you would have no difficulty selling it online for $300.

I messaged Michael and he is looking at an alternative option of using the 05-07 module instead.

I'll see what I can find. His inventory rotates a lot. He has a stash of vans, and all his trucks are late models.

I believe 2008-2010 is incorrect. 08/09 is the 6.0 / 6.4 diesel boundary, and on the f series around in that time frame the transfer case controller moved into a larger "smart junction box" body control module. I know because I ordered one off amazon, and got surprised.

What you want is, I believe pre 2009, so 08 and down, I got mine off an 04 or 06.

The ford trucks link above has an excellent diagram of where to look for it.

Great info on this. Can you please elaborate a bit more on what you got and how you set it all up. Reason for asking is Iím looking to use module 5C3T14B205AB which is from the 05 to 07 f-series. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I don't have the MG manual b/c I don't have a MG 4wd kit. But I will look at 6.0 trucks, if they have them and see.

I need van stuff and a few northern friends need axles, so I'll be there a while lol.

Greetings! I just finished reading the thread and though I would introduce myself and ask a question. My name is Jud and I am converting a 1995 7.3 Leader type 2 Ambo. This will be my second 4x4 conversion; the first was a Ujoint DIY kit into a 2010 V10.
Question:
its been a couple of late nights of reading so I might have missed it but I don't remember seeing much info in here about E4ods. Specifically, is the e4od compatible with an NP273 (2011 F250)? I have access to one locally for $300 but my transmission guy is mostly retired and wants me to supply all the parts to mate it to the trans. Do I need an adaptor? If so, any suggestions as to where to source it?

E4OD and 4R100 both require a different tailshaft to go from 2wd to 4wd. Which, to replace, requires taking the transmission apart. Depending on the mileage getting a rebuilt 4EOD that is already 4WD might be easier.
