Some 17s fit no problem, some I've seen are a little tight and require some of the casting ribs on the caliper to be ground down. There's not much chance of a 16 fitting over the larger brakes.

Gotcha. Sounds like 17s it is then. Thanks
I'll search around, but I'm assuming we need a different offset than the trucks?

Truck wheels work just fine on the vans. Lots of folks have used factory Fseries wheels.

I'd appreciate opinions.

I got my axle from a 2008 Dually. The scrap yard took the dually spacers out. The difference was that the studs are M14 but coarse thread and slightly shorter that the single wheel. I didn't know and stripped the threads. By the time i was to change the lugs, I decided to put new hubs (new bearings).
If you want to put spacers, the shorter studs will work great, just mind using the proper nuts.

Getting ready to install the MG kit on my 1998 E350/Airstream B190. This install thread is pretty good. Has anyone done a video of the install? The brackets and info provided by MG seem pretty straight forward. I could use some clarification on how the hardware gets allocated.
Can anyone clarify the how/where the M20 bolts for the lower spring keeper are used?
How does the Ford steering stabilizer bracket F2UZ-3E652-A mount?
I will try to document my install and add these tips into some form of installation directions for the kit.
Thanks,
Tom

I put a set of super heavy springs in the Cummins van (5000lbs springs)
https://www.truckspring.com/suspensi...450-Super-Duty
They are a little stiff, maybe because they're new and not a lot of miles yet. Ride is firm but not too jarring...but they're the only spring that holds up the hefty Cummins/Allison at the right ride height. If you have a very heavy rig with heavy steel bumper and the CC880S isn't cutting it, these SSC-31 work well.
|
I know the CC880s springs a variable rate but how does that rate compare to a stock E350 spring (say for a 7.3 van). And then how it compare to the SSC 31 MG used on the Cummins build (5000#).

In the service manual I think there is a chart of springs and spring rates. I know I’ve seen it somewhere like that. Maybe it’s in the body builders info.
I have the Moog catalog in a filtered spreadsheet if that would be helpful.
