Sportsmobile does the same additional leaf to its rigs. Maybe call them to get a bead on the proper leaf. I imagine a shop would require about two hours to do the install. Just my guess.....

the extra leaf may give you a stiffer ride whereas the blocks would not,
discuss the options with the local suspension/brake shop...

In addition to the air springs, SK also added an additional leaf. If I lower the front bags to 15 psi and raise the back bags to 60 or so, I get about an inch difference where the rear is actually higher than the front.

What kind of tires are those? How is the road noise?

Those are the Toyo Open country tires. SK really recommended them, and since I couldn't get my preferred tire (wrangler MTR) I figured I'd try them.

They are quieter than my goodyear MTRs, for sure, which were among the quietest mud tires when I got them on my jeep 3 years ago.

Of course, with the full dynamat treatment on the van, I don't hear anything from the outside, with the exception of the diesel through the doghouse.

Now, how long will they last?

Toyo Open Country M/T

I would love a set, but SMB would not put them on. Have to do this mod at a later date. The max load rating on the Toyo's is significantly higher than my existing SMB options.

Did they say why they wouldn't put them on?

To continue the thread jack,

I've asked at every tire place and they all have said "Nitto"... apparently the Nitto A/Ts are 10 ply tread where as the BFG ATs are 8. Since I'm considering tires next year I'm trying to collect all the opinions.

Buji,

That is a good read on S&K. It helped me make the choice to just get a 2wd and S&K the thing and save like 6 grand

The van goes in on the second of Nov. Does it really take 5 to 6 weeks?

Depends, if they have other stuff scheduled and how complex your build is going to be. Are you going with their standard 4x4 upfit?
