Re: My Interior Basic Camper/ Platform Bed Build

I am in SLC, You? My wife and I moved here about a year and a half ago from NY. We are loving it!

- It looks like you kept the bench seat? Is this an RB?

I have to be honest not sure what you mean by RB? It is a 3 person bench seat from an extended van. Mine is a cargo.

- Why the shorter passenger side and the angled hinged piece ?

I did not want a pointy edge sticking out by the sliding door and my wife is pretty short, haha.

- What are the short "ribs" on the underside of the hinged piece ?

I added these to add strength to the plywood it felt like it was going to crack otherwise.

finally,
How are you able to include all those photos in one post? I'm limited to 3 at a time...

I use photobucket and copied the links. It did not seem to have a limit?

Re: My Interior Basic Camper/ Platform Bed Build

Hey Jolly-

Welcome to the City of Salt - Glad you're liking it! I've been here 30 years - currently living in Big Cottonwood near Solitude. Are you a skier/boarder?
We'll have to get together in the near future for some cold beverages - PM me. And I woud like to see your setup.

You answered all my questions, and it looks like boywonder answered yours. I have an RB cargo van as well with the one bench seat. I've been slowly doing mods (see my sig, below) as I finally make decisions and my budget allows, lol.

Welcome to SLC and enjoy the SMB forum - there is a wealth of knowledge here and many helpful members with vast knowledge and great experience.

Thanks

Phil

Well I finally got around to getting the cushions made and I am pretty happy with the overall build. New Image Van in SLC made the cushions and he made them a tiny bit larger so they can get wedged in and there is no movement and we will not sink in the cracks. This makes perfect sense but it made the fabric bunch up a bit so I have to see if I will leave it or he said he can make them smaller. Anyways they did a great job with the custom cushions.
Now I need to wire up my marine battery, install the propane tank for heat and than Agile RIP, never ending, haha...

It is super comfy and huge! The dimensions are pretty close to a king size bed.
