Re: Near Miss and Broken Trust: UPDATE

Hey Marc, Glad to hear they owned up and took it on the chin like men. That's pretty rare. You handled it well.

As a life long dealer tech (not Ford) turned dealer technician trainer I try to keep quite on this dealership problems topic.

Here are a few thoughts.

Always use a torque wrench on every thing!!!!!!
Too tight is just as bad as too loose, there is a reason why manufacturers have torque specs.
Using a torque wrench lets you know when its just right.

Marc is right about "irate arse" card.
Some people kill or get killed people when they get mad or scared.
Others handle it better (very good job Marc)
And some die of stress because they wish they could do something about how they feel.

Its often not a good thing when it happens but we all do make mistakes...

Re: Near Miss and Broken Trust: UPDATE

When I was young I had a Honda with wheel spacers. The tech left the nuts loose on the rear drivers wheel, when I realized it and reported back to dealership their reply was wheel spacers aren't a factory installed item, it's not our problem. Take it to the wheel shop where you bought you're wheels.

all I could reply was You just did my brakes.
