Thanks dokaman, appreciate it but I'm near SFO. Think I've got some rides available around here that I can check out.

Stopped at Quadvan this morning and talked with John about installing a locker in my rig. Talking with John is like drinking from a firehose. He is truly a wealth of information on lockers, air compressors, lifts, suspension etc. We spent a good half hour together without interruptions . There was a lot going on in the shop but he was focused on me and my needs. That kind of customer care felt great.

I only want a small 2" lift he recommended installing a Maxx-Lift hockey puck style. A 2" lift is within the stock caster/camber adjustment.

After discussing locker options and showing me the differences between them he said that an alternative to ARB is the Zip Locker by Yukon Gear and Axel. He has a number of customers are using them and there have been no issues with them. Will do some research on them. They appear to be similar to ARB and seem to cost the same.

He told me to buy the locker and compressor where ever I could find the best price and he would install them. If he bought them he would have to mark them up.

In my opinion, Ford's specs for caster are a bit on the low side. My van was at the low end of the caster spec when I got it from Quadvan and it drove like crap. With my new suspension setup, I'm now well above Ford's max caster spec and it drives really well. Be careful how close you get to the low side of the spec, that's all I'm saying.

I would agree with the caster spec., more is better.

On the 2" puck lift, I would rather get a better spring with a higher rate and length that will get you the lift - it will ride better.
