I just installed Weldtec's 6" Baja Grocery Getter kit, without shocks. Weldtec suggested these Rancho part #'s as a temporary "fix." Weldtec said,

"Just to clarify the Rancho is a temporary shock.. they are like $50 apiece. A very cheap shock that does not offer the full benefits of the Fox shocks. The rancho is the closest cheapest shock we could find to be used temporarily. The front ones are 2'' longer than they should be which is ok but the shock will just be compressed instead of your 6'' of travel in the fox shock you will only have 4''... it is not suggested to do any off-roading in them"

FRONT: RS55042
REAR: RS55044

Just an FYI. If anybody finds other info, that would be great...$200 is a lot for a temporary solution.

****I want to make it clear that Weldtec informed the shocks were back-ordered when I ordered my BGG kit, the service has been great and they made me aware of the situation and I chose to proceed.****

I found this older thread - a couple of different shock part numbers were listed. Bilstein was one of them and these can be tuned at a later date. I have found Amazon seems to have Bilstein available through some suppliers unless its one of those Sorry we actually don't have that

What I am thinking-
Moog CC880S variable rate springs
Bistein 25-177480s

Will need to also address at some point - Rear, sway bar spacer

An Email from Bilstein to a fellow member suggested part#
*Front:**24-186018
Rear: 33-176840
But I cant determine if the front gives you the extra 1'' you need with the Moog Coils

Yes These will Work I installed the CC880's on my previous E350 and used the 24-186018 on both ends, front and rear. They are... (Compressed:13.590in. Extended 21.4.20in.) They're nearly the same length as the 33-176840 (Compressed: 13.66in. Extended: 21.65in.)
They're both 5100 series shocks with the 33-176840's having the shock valve body/the weight on the upper van body mount, unsprung. Whereas the 24-186018's have the valve body/weight on the lower sprung 'eye' end.

How do the CC880S springs ride overall? Just going off the specs i posted they seem like they would be extremely harsh being rated at nearly twice the load capacity of the others?

I think it would depend on your buildout weight and what engine you have. I’ve got the 7.3 diesel, heavier than the gassers and the 880S springs work great. If you’ve got a lighter buildout with a 5.4, you might consider going with the 880

I just gave a deposit for a Agile RIP install of August 18. I hope that date reflects lead times on Fox shocks.

The date is about right. Agile has been swamped with work during the pandemic. I ordered Bilstein struts and Fox 2.0 shocks for our Transit in January. I waited until May 11th before they could fit me into their schedule. Got some other “goodies,” too (front and rear skid plates, Aluminess front bumper and Warn winch).

I installed them on my 2003 E350 4x4 with the 7.3 and it was AWESOME!
I wished I had done it earlier. I just ordered a set for my 2001. Much smoother ride! The suspension uses the top couple inches of the tighter wound 'softer' spring rate.
