Re: Quigley Steering Stabilizer/Damper
The dual stabilizers were installed for two reasons.
1) I (and most folks with modified 4x4s and oversize tires) feel that once you get tires over 32", a steering stabilizer is a good idea. It will also help with tire wear. 35" tires usually like the double setup.
2) My rig wandered a little at higher speed and as the pavement changed, it would move around a bit. Pretty typical of oversize tires.
So Greg, I guess I did have a little bit of an existing problem. It wasn't bad, but could have been better. As our friend Skywagon used to day, "perfection is acceptable". Works for me.... This sucker tracks great now. I can actually take my eyes off the road and enjoy the view. No more screams from the Missus about running off the road.
daveb, no problem with the turning radius. There is still a little travel left in the shocks. I think the shocks have about 9-1/4" of travel and our (at least mine) tie rod moved back and forth about 8-3/4". Lots of room left over.

Re: Quigley Steering Stabilizer/Damper
Just read my installation post and realized that it sounds like the Deaver springs caused my van to start to wander. NOT THE CASE! My rig was wandering so bad before the Deaver's that it was scary. The Deaver's cleaned up that problem, along with others. It's just that there was a little bit left and I thot a stabilizer would help. I was right!

Scatter, 103.88? They quoted me 166.00. I'm gonna go to that web site. Usually my buddy that owns a part shop can get me good prices but he can't touch that price.

Re: Quigley Steering Stabilizer/Damper
Standard price is $125-130. The $103.88 is a killer deal

Re: Quigley Steering Stabilizer/Damper
It' like - you're right NRL. I just went to their web site and it's now $166. Way too much. I still have my invoice and charge receipt from last week, $103.88. You might go to Amazon here:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001QI4754/ref ... nkCode=asn
They have it for $118 including shipping. It's the best other deal I found. Sorry to have got your hopes up.

Re: Quigley Steering Stabilizer/Damper
Scatter, they must have been tipped off by someone that they were about to get some good advertisement
BTW Skyjacker refused to give any details about that model kit and said it was not for a E-350. I can't see that it would matter as long as it works. They won't recognize a SMB build.

How are you guys figuring out which one to get? 7022,7099 etc.. The Application charts have nothing similar unless your going with the F350 F450..
In my case, I have an older Quigley setup and it currently has the Rancho Stablizer (Single) and I want to upgrade to the double (Rancho or Skyjacker).
Double Damper The other type of the Double Damper

Re: Quigley Steering Stabilizer/Damper
There is nothing out there from what I've seen. That's the reason there isn't one on my front end all ready. So I'm going on what scatter installed. It seems to be working for him and I got the same front end. Like I said, Skyjacker wouldn’t even discuss installing on a SMB. Probably a liability issue.

Re: Quigley Steering Stabilizer/Damper
This is the best shot I have. Nothing complicated about the c-clamps. Rancho stabilizers work on everything and are really the best value with a life time warranty. Quigley used a welded on bracket to secure the center. One stabilizer is mounted in front of the other.
