RSC on an E-Series 4x4: How big can you go?

I've heard this may interfere with/confuse the RSC? Anybody have success running larger than 285's? With which 4x4 conversion?

My 2014 Q van has 265 70 R18. This setup already seems to pulse the brakes a bit in an ABS fashion on very steep ascents/descents while turning in a very tight radius. I'm thinking that's when RSC kicks in. It's once in a blue moon.

Mine was doing the same thing until I put my new suspension in. I think it was mostly due to way better shocks and stiffer springs. I didn't even have the sway bar hooked up in the first few hundred miles of the changeover and still didn't have an issue.

I put 1500 miles on my van after the suspension went in with 35" tires on. Never felt the brakes pulse again. Not even in the corners where the brakes pulsed every time before. Once the Cummins is in, my van will be RSC and traction control free. I'm switching out modules so in don't have to bother with those systems.

FWIW I've got 285/70-17's and RSC....never noticed anything RSC related.....

We do RSC vans all the time with no problems once everything is set correctly. There is nothing tricky about it.

Thanks for this info guys. I may go with 305 then if the spare can fit without hitting the box on the other side.

With that size you may have some rubbing on the front fenders......I have some rubbing with 285/70-17's even after some trimming.

For sure. Mine only have an inch of clearance to the pinch welds as it stands. At one point I test fit that same size you mentioned and they scraped but cleared, barely. In due time the van will go under the knife, so to speak. Then will allow for some more capable off road tires.

Years ago we did one with 8" on 37s and everything worked, it just interfered too much during aggressive driving in my opinion. The customer hasn't complained but I still draw the line at 6" of lift.
