Re: Shockingly, another thread...

August 2011 - busted shock
October 2011 - gave up on Bilstein and put box truck shocks on temporarily.
November - 7100s show up.
December - cold and wet, pulled box truck shocks off
January - cold, wet and snowy
February - started installing the Bilsteins

Hey, it's only months later and I FINALLY got permanent shocks on the van. Bilstein was less than helpful- lackadaisical about when they got my shocks to me doesn't even begin to describe it.

Then the upward angle of the 7100 steel braided tube got me. Between off and on cold weather and many other commitments it wasn't until two days ago I finished the install. Looking at the photos I can't believe how difficult it was. I also can't believe after all the measurements and going over just about every shock offering Bilstein has I dropped the mounts about 3/4" at the last second.

The photos have notes, Red arrows denote FRONT on the van, (D)river or (P)assenger side noted; (hope that helps with the orientation).

Holy Smokes.....That looks like quite the install job. Do you have any skin left on your knuckles?

How about posting a ride report. Was the fix worth the effort?

Re: Shockingly, another thread...

I guess you really, really wanted reservoir shocks, didn't you?

All that aside, how does it ride?

Re: Shockingly, another thread...

People who drive factory stock vehicles don't have these kind of issues.

Of course, they don't have our kind of fun and adventures either.

Hopefully, the ride and handling are everything you wanted.
