Ah... it's been awhile... looking at Tirerack, it appears the W965 has been replaced by the Blizzak LT. Sizes are more limited to "stock" sizes as opposed to lifted trucks. Most of the sizes are Load Range E.

Right.. Now I remember. Blizzaks just weren't available in the size I wanted. If they would have had them, I would have probably bought them for the van.

Nokian Studded tires will take you anywhere. Just got them for my Sprinter 4x4 and put them on stock steel rims. Drove up to Mt. Hood through a snowstorm and it felt like I was on dry pavement.

Walmart has them for fairly cheap.

I drove studded snows for years, going up to the mountains every weekend. I hated the noise and the way they mess up the roads. I switched to KO2’s on 17’s several years ago and have been very pleased with them. They’re plenty aggressive in snow/ice/slush, yet I’m happy to keep them on all year.

I suppose if you’re looking to be a big-time backroads with three feet of snow kind of explorer, staying out for days or weeks, a gigantic snow tread with studs might be in order. Short of that, not worth the bother imho.
