Straight Transfer Case Shift Rod

Been searching for a straight shifter for my NV271 on a 4R100. I've found the part number F81Z-7210-AB, but am finding conflicting pictures on what it looks like and the Ford parts counter was pretty useless.Anybody have any insights?

This is what mine currently looks like. Wanting one that doesn't tilt inward as I'm always tripping on it getting in and out of the back. Don't judge my dirty floor...

You can bend that one straight but make sure it will clear the seat in low range.

I don't have the means to bend a 5/8" rod. Is there not a straight option?

No factory truck shifter is ever going to be "right". My shifter was rubbing on the new seats.

After removing it, I just used a vice and propane torch to bend mine, it took a couple tries to get it exactly where I wanted it.

Sand, then painted with rattle can chassis black.

More than once I've used a truck's hitch receiver hole, scrap steel or wood to take up the gap, as a substitute for a vice for things like this. If you don't have even a modest workshop, I say use your imagination and improvise.

A handheld torch from Lowes or Home Depot will make it easier, put it in a vice and bend by hand.

A straight bar will need a larger hole and the shifter will hit the seat in low.

Pull it out and take it somewhere that has a press, or find a long piece of pipe that fits over shifter knob if it won't come off and give it a tweek, heating may help
