My van, like a lot of your vans, is heavy. I will be driving from Colombia to Argentina and want a tire with decent road manners and good offroad performance and longevity in rocks, mud, sand. Even better than the KO2s I currently have. I also want a tire that doesn’t throw rocks. Sounds funny but the BFG KO2s didn’t pick up and throw rocks at the body unlike a previous set of Michellin ATs which peppered the wheel wells.

Anyway, your feedback and personal experiences with any of these 4 tires please. All are load range E rated for 3750 lbs.

Hankook RT03 Dynapro M/T (59lbs)

Nitto Trail Grappler M/T (70lbs)

Yokohama G003 Geolander M/T (60lbs)

Toyo Open Country M/T (67lbs)
I had Ridge Grapplers installed on my van a couple months ago, I couldn't be happier with them.
These Nittos are great in the sand, you start getting a really big foot print at about 30 psi, and are really good in the rocks too, I haven't had them in the mud yet but I'm expecting the same. The one thing that really stands out with these tires is the lack of road noise. I was up in the mountains this weekend driving steep winding paved roads, the tires handled great but it was also the first time I've heard any tire noise and only when I was driving deep into a corner fast, amazingly quiet tire.

Yes I have just bought 5 kmc grenade wheels 16” that cleared my e250 calipers most people from what I’ve researched go with a 17” minimum for that reason.the wheel is is 1 inch wider now 8” stock is 7” the other reason I went with this wheel is because it’s rated about 3500 lbs each an my van weighs 8000 lbs

I went with 5 bfg all terrain ko2 dt tread 265-75-16 diameter is 31.7” (stock is 245-75-16 which is 30.4).I picked e rated 10 ply it will fit on a stock wheel but is more designed for an 8” according to bfg tech support. The dt tread is only available on certain sizes/models go to bfg site to verify.the dt tread is for heavy truck and van applications and is a harder compound with a 50k warranty.they made this dt tread because people were complaining about premature wear but it is still an all terrain snow/ice/mud. Bfg tech said the non “dt” are a little better if your always in snow and ice but will wear faster.

I do have just a little bit of rubbing and that’s with new front heavy duty coils so I will need to trim fender,I will look for a thread but it’s pretty self explanatory.

They come in different colors/sizes and here are some specs for the 16”

Another issue is the spare tire carrier that came with this rv with the stock wheel and tire hits and cracked the rear tail light.before I mount this bigger tire I will put longer bolts to keep it farther away from door for it to clear lense and I’ll post a few pics.

I originally ordered new super coils 4-k lbs each so I could use my Atv hauler on the front with my race quad and when I purchase a four seater sidexside it could go on my 14 foot flatbed.my rv parking doesn’t allow me room for a longer trailer with my rv also being parked if I still want to exit my backyard to alley.the problem is that the supercoil website incorrectly said it would be no more than 1” higher than stock and it ended up being 2” over stock.when I called them they said oops that is for a heavier diesel van and are going to change their website.i ended up having to put a 2.5-3 degree cam kit in and have my knuckles grinded so it wouldn’t rub.i had to return the bilstien rv b6 shocks and go alacarte bilstien 5125.it also scrapped my plans for using 5k air bags in rear and I ended up ordering new leaf packs/shackles/bushings/bolts for $600 shipped from general springs.i also had to go with alacarte bilstien 5125 for rears.i couldn’t find a full set of foxes that would work and ford van owners seem to be more limited in choice because of the stem/loop attachment points. i will add some more details and specs later if people are interested.just goin off memory.it all started with wanting a little higher/wider tire(no lift) haha but in the end I’m glad I got the 2” front and 3” of suspension lift so I can get over whoops/g outs easier in the desert and not to mention the 1” plus on tires.im also ready to tow without the azz end sagging.i also added a fox steering stabilizer and I’m happy so far with how it drives around town over speed bumps dips and freeway.will update later when I offroad and air down.the coils and leafs have definitely reduced roll on corners/driveways and sway on this 9’ rig which is welcomed since I don’t have any room for rear sway bar with generator/waste and water tanks etc

^^^ That’s a pretty cool size! I would like something less wide but retain the height of the 315/70-17. Those look really narrow compared to what I’m running.

I remember looking at these a while back but the weight ratings weren’t high enough for the size I was running. Are those the f-rated tires they offer? If so do they assign a specific weight? I poked around again but can’t find anything specific.

Here's the size chart. Will be interesting to see how these do in the snow this season. I drive to the top of the mountain every day, I'm hoping they have some bite.
