I bought it just to see what it was. Jage, I'll sell it to you for the $10 + shipping I paid for it. If it doesn't work for you, you should be able to make a simple spacer for the adapter to get the width you need.

Let me know.

LOL! We should sign it and just keep passing it on LOL

Our 35inch Coopers fit fine.
Yes Greg, I seem to remember SMB saying Aluminess made a slight change to the newer bumpers so 315s would fit.

Re: Tires too Big for Aluminess

Still an issue, the Aluminess spacer I obtained was for 8x170mm.

In addition, I don't have any shop tools so pressing out the studs from my existing swing arme does not seem possible (I really don't want to tear up my swing arm either, monkeying around with the vice).

The main thing I learned from Dave @Aluminess is that they are engineered to compress the tire against at least two points on the arm/hinges. If you don't have this- just hang the tire out in space, you'll get broken welds from the bouncing.

So.... still dont' know what I'm going to do about hanging my 305s out there.

Re: Tires too Big for Aluminess

When I mounted the Aluminess tire rack, my tires were too large (33"), too much backspacing and a different bolt pattern (8 x 170mm). So, I made some spacers:

I used the same wheel lock as on the van, both on one of the spacers and on the spare:

It would have been easier if the Aluminess flat adaptor would have worked for me.

I'm not sure why the images don't appear. I took the outer brackets off 'img' so I could post what I entered. The url looks good. Let me know what I did wrong.

Anyway, the pictures are in my album. (Thanks Jage!)

Re: Tires too Big for Aluminess

Fixed. It looks like for album images you have to use [thumb]8220[/thumb] if you're linking to the gallery. I'll look into why later, but for now it works that way and not with [img] tags (which still work for offsite stuff)... I think it should work either way, no sense in restricting what is easiest.
