Dave,

When I was looking for a E rated tire in 35 for a 17" wheel I was very limited to what I found -- For me it was either Toyo MT or Cooper Discoverer STT - Not much else available

Steve

Re: Toyo Tire Upgrade-4:10 gears OK?

Im running 315-75-16 BFG AT's and my stock gearing was at 3:73 and I did a gear change to 4:10's which are much better. I tow a toy hauler and use my van as a daily driver. Runs perfect. I have a 2 wheel drive so when they did the gear change I added rear lockers. Love em. Gets my 2 x van places I didnt dream of.

Re: Toyo Tire Upgrade-4:10 gears OK?

We have 35" Toyo Open Country MT's on our SMB with 18" rims and stock gearing. It rides smooth as silk as far as we're concerned.Accelerating from a stop or low speed feels fine.
I have the same set up on our F-150 that has a 4" rancho lift. I did change the gearing in that to 456 to bring it back to more of the stock feel when under load.
I didnt change the gearing in the van cause we just wanted to keep the Ford warranty intact as much as possible and it doesnt feel any different on the low end than stock anyway.
Hell, it is a psd so there's not much difference between 0 to 60 in 120 seconds and 0 to 60 with 456 in 110 seconds.

0 to 60 in 110 seconds?! That's pretty good, I use a sundial when I clock 0 - 60 times in my PSD.

Re: Toyo Tire Upgrade-4:10 gears OK?

Yea, I might have embellished a bit on that awesome acceleration time.
Boy I just noticed when this thread started. Cellular Steve must be thinking about a new set of tires by now.
