In hindsight, it's probably fortunate that bambi took out the stock bumper instead of the Aluminess.....unfortunate for the deer in either case.

Me too. It could have been so much worse. In that split second as I was mashing the brake pedal through the floor I remember thinking not to try and swerve around him and cause a rollover.

My Mom, somewhat ironically, taught me that a very long time ago. Never swerve, brake and that's about it. She had a friend who was killed swerving to miss a deer. One day I was driving with her and a doe walked out in front of us. I braked and I could here her sternly say "Don't Swerve".


Sorry your glorious trip was marred a bit by this. But I am glad it was just some metal and a plastic shroud. 4x4 is in tact as are you!!
