Assateague Island - Visit the National Park and see the wild ponies
Caution though, Sand is so soft you'll likely sink to the axles - ask me how I know.
Took about 45 minutes to make a u-turn and return 150 yards to safety ( big storm and high tide all rolling in at the same time). Had quite a crowd develope, was obvious majority rooting for Mother nature to win the race.

Closest I've gotten to Assateague was Carova 4X4 beach N.C. which sounds similar to Assateague.
Never had a problem there.
Guess a lot depends on weather conditions which can impact the softness of the sand.
Either way The last thing you want to do is snow plow when turning.
Funny how you go from panic to jubilant relief when you finally get out.
