Re: Who is running 37s?
Tomesd is correct - the 325/65R18s are actually a 35x13.50 tire. Nontheless, thanks for taking the picture as it is still a sweet looking SMB.

Re: Who is running 37s?
I'm evaluating tire and rim options and gave Heber a call to discuss last week.
He said that they spec the vans with 285/75s (roughly a 33" tire) because that size is optimal for not rubbing when at full articulation. Larger sizes can rub, and a 35" or larger will have a lot of contact. In deciding between a 16" and 17" rim, he said that is not as imporant as overall tire diameter. Either size will work fine.

I was in such a rush I didn't take a close look. A couple of months ago he had told me 37's were his planned tire. He may have come to his senses.
Also, I wouldn't say wheel size isn't important. There are many reasons to pick different size wheels. Besides fitting your brakes, how you plan to use the van would likely influence your choice.

Re: Who is running 37s?
Also, if the van is 2008 or later, 16's won't fit. Gotta have 17's to clear the brakes...

Re: Who is running 37s?
Hey Chris, I've been checking out your site and have some questions for you. How do you find your van for daily use and how much offroading do you do with it? Overall roof height? Any experiences you would like to relay?

Re: Who is running 37s?
I love my van as a daily driver! Of course I make sacrifices driving it as much as I do, but I've been satisfied over the last 5 years & 70K. When I was in CA, I spent more time off road. I've done a few big Death Valley trips, some OHV areas, Pismo Beach, and Mojave rd with a bunch of magazine dudes in Jeeps that thought we were trying to set a world rally record The van got a workout over those 2 days!
Now that I'm on the east coast, the van has been doing a lot of towing & mainly sees 4wd on job sites & in snow. I just had it on the Outer Banks of NC. People are always shocked when they ride in my van, because it rides & handles so well. It's funny to see them brace themselves before I enter a curve. I don't drive like an ass, I just know what the van is capable of.
My biggest complaint as a daily driver is the lack of steps to help the vertically challenged.
My overall height is 8' without the roof rack.

It's on my list of projects.... I just say that if you can't get in, you don't ride!!!!
