I've amassed all the parts I just haven't done it yet. I could post a part's list for those with a dynatrac axle if anyone's interested. I also went OEM on the calipers but sourced the rotors from dynatrac with the correct bolt hole pattern. The rotors are quite a bit bigger at 14.5" diam so require 17 or 18" wheels although some steelies might fit.

I'm not sure why but for some reason Sportsmobile specs the D60 axle from dynatrac with 30 spline inner shafts. I haven't heard of anyone with a van breaking one but I'm upgrading to 35 spline to match my 35 spline full floater on the rear. Lots of reports of folks breaking the 32 spline semi-float rear axles. I know it's the front axle but 30 spline on a 10,000lb 4x4 van? Really?

Having the part numbers would be extremely useful - Unfortunately in my case I have a Dynatrac 70 on the front. Without checking for confirmation, I suspect your D60 parts would not apply to the D70.

Odd, Dynatrac doesn't do a 70. Unless it's some sort of hybrid? And dollars to donuts I bet the hubs are the same. Easy to figure out. Give Steve at Dynatrac a call. (714) 596-4461 X201

Had them both checked about a year ago = 70 in front & 80 in rear. But I'm going to take your advise and reach out for Steve to see if it is some sort of hybrid (and if they have any additional info that could confirm spline).
Appreciate the contact info!

I put F-450 rotors (14.5") and 2008+ E series calipers (my van is a 2008) on my kingpin Dana 60.........was a lot of work and fabrication but the setup from Advanced 4x4 used chevy calipers and rotors.

The rotors required 17" wheel minimum.

For people who are doing new conversion, you can just get a 2013+ dana 60 it has 14.5" rotors.

Do you know of any write ups showing the E450 hydro boost install on a E350 van. I would like to do this upgrade too. Sounds real solid.

Does anyone know if there is a write-up thread on this "Hydroboost conversion" ? I am interested in seeing the steps involved doing the install.

From Karma's post on page 1,
Quote:

I did a Hydroboost conversion from an E450, greater force at the calipers for the same pedal pressure and it also takes the mechanical vacuum pump out of the braking equation. It was a huge change

It's a relatively easy swap I did it in 6 or 7 hours..... most of it went on routing the hoses so that they don't rub and wear out. The hoses can be bought from local auto store just tell them you have a E450.

Thanks

I agree with artictraveller a boat that heavy should have brakes on the trailer, I used to tow a 2.5 ton 25’ cruiser the thing would almost push you thru a red light. Turned out the brake system on the trailer was not working correctly. Once repaired, it was like a big hand pulling the truck back while braking. My van is a 1/2 ton, which also had smaller brakes than the 3/4 and full ton brakes so I installed a HD Hawk system on the front and huge drums on the rear. Problem solved.
