2017 SPRINTERS Arriving at SMB

Who is able to provide SITREP on Sprinters arriving in California, Texas or Indiana?

SMBwest said they were expecting new rigs to be arriving in April. Has anyone been notified that their van is in and heading for assembly?

We're curious to know if the vans on the line right now have been around for awhile and if any new vans have been shipped that are true 2017 models.

No news is bad news

Nope. We supposedly have a completion date of late October, so it's not officially late yet. But no notifications, status updates, request for payment, etc., from SMB West.

AIS: Thanks for the feed back; we're expecting a rig by November/December. Curious to know if anyone who should have had something 'new' show-up last month or this summer has any updates.
Seems like you should be one of the group getting the newer rigs in soon, hope yo hear something soon!

Radio silence from Austin on ours. We ordered in October last year.

Ok velo47:
Ya'll are right in the window for some breaking news it seems. Got our fingers crossed that you're going to be fired up this summer and hear about your rig rolling in...

Ordered from SMB West in August with an expected wait time of 10 months for the van to arrive at SMB. I haven't received any status updates. Checked in last month but they did not have any details on when it may arrive or it's current status.

ccw3432: The hold-up may be the way this year started out with the emissions clearance back log as the EPA and Daimler worked out their issues.

Are you expecting a 2017, 6 cyl, 4x4?

So far, ya'll are the closest to hearing something, based on the fact you're in a ten month window right now... hang in there, it will happen.

Yes 6cyl 4x4. The recent Sprinter hold definitely caused a lot of uncertainty, but hopefully that can be sorted through by now. Not sure if mine was/is one of the ones being held hostage...hope to get some good news soon.

Not sure if this helps...ordered our 6cyl 4x4 last spring. It was suppose to be a 2017m/y van, it was built over winter and held in SC for a couple months. It was delivered as a 2016 VIN with the 2017 option packages but with 2016 pricing. Final stages of build happening now at SMBW and pick up is scheduled for 2 weeks from today.

I know that doesn't give you any info on a 'true' 2017 but gives an idea about the lead time. I asked about 2017 when I was there last and was told they had no info. Read on another forum that the window for 2017 m/y vans is extremely small and orders for 2018 m/y starts in a couple months.
