My understanding is the gas engine is the only one EPA certified at this point.... The diesels are still being "re-calibrated".

The current 6-cylinder only was released for sale this after some heavy negotiating to be granted a waiver for this model year only.

I hope i am correct.
do you have a web link that indicates v6 Diesel only for 4x4?
Check that TFLT video that you linked in your opening post. At 9:04-9:06 in the video (you may need to zoom full screen to see details) they show available drivetrain options, with the US only 9 speed/gas combo marked only for RWD versions.

Although if they can't get Diesel engines through EPA certification I suppose they might rethink those drivetrain combos.

Modifications Bus / Sprinter

Hello,

I just moved from Germany to the States (Washington State), so please excuse my writing skills. Back in Germany I had VW Bus California that was built in 1998 which I was travelling with around Europe. I did some modifications my self and also with more modern tools. I built a bed, a small Kitchen and some shelfs in my bus. Since I could not bring my bus to the States I am now looking for a an american van / Sprinter or maybe even a pick-up truck that I can modificate to a camping van (also to feel more like an american citizen ). Does anyone have experience with changing the interiour of a Sprinter or better chevy van? Maybe even with the shelf system that I used for my VW bus? (https://www.sortimo.com/vehicle-devi...imo-globelyst/)
Thanks in advance, Rike

Gas 2nd Alternator?

Has anyone seen if the second alternator will be an option for the gas engine? I believe with the diesel's it's only been available for the 6 cylinder models. It's super important to be able to go all electric.

Unfortunately the auxiliary alternator mounts appear to be diesel only, at least for a MB authorized installation. However it is shown as being available for either diesel engine.

From the Sprinter 2019 Master Upfitters guide:

Code N62: (OM 642/OM651)
Additional alternator front power take-off
Poly-V-belt pulley
 50 mm/1.97 in outside diameter, 6 grooves
These power take-offs can be obtained from the factory as special equipment.
These are available only for Diesel.

I have a deposit down on a new Sportsmobile that will be based on a 2019 Sprinter. I would dearly love to read this guide. Is there any way I can get my hands on a copy?

I got curious about this too, and so I went and...yep, googled.
A quick search for "2019 Sprinter Upfitters Guide" took me here:

DAIMLER VANS UPFITTER PORTAL - BEG
https://www.upfitterportal.com/en-us/tech-info/beg

Once you submit an email address, it lets you download what appears to be the complete aforementioned 2019 upfitters guide as a .pdf file. (312 pages!)

Page 31 looks to list the various build configurations.

Thanks! I just leafed through it; it's going to make very interesting reading.

Of course the doc I *really* want is the Dealer Ordering Guide — the one that lists all of the options. Gotta figure out exactly what to order! But I haven't found that in any searches yet. Anyone have a handle on it?
