Aftermarket tow package?

Question- I'm buying a 4 cylinder sprinter, but it doesn't have the tow package just the wiring harness. I'm towing a 17' casita. Anyone have any issues with adding the aftermarket hitch? Otherwise I'm back to buying the 6 cylinder with the factory package.. ... thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

The Sprinter Store lists several rear hitches made by Curt Manufacturing, suggest you start there. I have not heard of an issue adding a rear hitch.

With the factory tow package, you get a module that has some built-in safety features for the stability program.

If it were me - I'd want to know if you could retrofit the factory tow package (not just the factory hitch). On other german cars I've had, the wiring is already there. You just need to plug in the tow control module and wire up the hitch. If not, then I would be inclined to go with the van having the factory tow module.
