I'm thinking I can do with out the electric step. I might see if I can get rid of the Becker and just get the other options of the package and save some cash. Open to other thoughts and comments.

The electric step on a 4wd Sprinter? If you truly use the 4wd you are asking for trouble as the step mechanism will be protruding from the underside.

I have never heard anything good about the Becker. We did the radio delete and installed an after-market unit with Apple CarPlay, very happy with that decision.

Any plans to install an after-market front bumper? If so you will loose the fog lights and most likely the headlight washers. Parking Aid is most likely a conflict also.

Any plans to install an after-market rear bumper? If so you will loose the trailer hitch. Ditto the Parking Aid comment above.

Curious why the additional battery? Is that something that your location in Alaska drives? I don’t see the need here in much-warmer CA, I used the under-hood space to install the dual ARB air compressor.

Not sure about the additional DEF capacity, would need to know more. I am averaging 1,400 mpg DEF with a bit over 4 gallons of capacity, I follow the practice of filling every 2,500 miles with no issues.

We have the heated front windshield and really like it. The wires are not an obstruction to visibility.

I agree with Fitz. You are spending too much on the van by just basically ordering everything that MB offers. You are better off spending wisely on just the things you will really use and then saving the money for the build. For example, I wouldn't spend $950 on a headlamp washing system when you could rebuild the lousy stock suspension system for the same money. You would appreciate that on every bump you hit. You could say the same for the lousy MB navigation system and rear view camera that can easily be replaced with better and cheaper aftermarket products.

Good input - I'll post more later but I agree on the step - dealer through that on there. Ditton on the Becker, though I looked at the other options in the package and it only amounted to $250 so I figured I'd let it stand. I have considered the after market stereo and back up cam. It may make sense.

Yes, I would much rather have the heated windshield than the step for sure!

Good point on the bumpers. No plan for a front one, but maybe a rear. Sensors seems to make good sense for parking being that it is such a large truck. Oh, 144 High Roof Sprinter.

Dual batteries up here are common for extra power in the cold. Also lots of darkness in winter so maybe more use of interior lights. Also plan for a 12v cooler and since I run RC cars need an invertor to charge batteries. My upfitter felt it was a good option that was easily built off and expanded. I mentioned the RB components dual battery and he felt he could do better or the same for less. He's a marine boat builder now doing vans the past few years.

For the stereo, what was the option delete? It comes from the factory with speakers, yes? Some of it is not plug and play so did you just do the entire system from the ground up including backup cam?

I should add I am all for getting rid of a few things and saving some money to put elsewhere.

Fore sure will have after market wheels and tires too.

Mine is a 2016 so you will have to find out the specifics for your model year, but my van came fully wired for the stereo including factory speakers. The speakers in the doors were replaced and two were added in the back and a good head unit was installed as were both a front and back camera and a Viper security system. Satisfied customer.

Fritz is the Viper security tied into the stereo in any way or just free standing and in addition too?

Factory stereo and nav delete for sure, if possible. I have it and I'm relplacing it. If you have (or will be adding aftermarket) backup camera I think the park assist is not needed. I have a 170" 4x4 with no rear windows and have no desire for parking sensors.

I think (could be wrong) that headlamp washers are part of the bixenon lights. The head lights are easily worth the cost either way.

I feel like rear windows and defrost/wipers etc is a waste of money too but that's just me.

You'll love the high roof though so I'd say good call there.

THanks for the thoughts on the stereo. If you "opt out" from the factory stereo, does it leave you with anything or does it become a raw install (and does it matter to the installer)?

Headlamp washing is part of the "package" and if it works, will be good for up here. In the winter the road spray covers the headlights making them a lot less effective. The "if it works" part is important though .
