Fuel tank size for 2011 SMB high-top 2500 RB110S build?

Fuel tank size for 2011 SMB high-top 2500 RB110S build? The MB specs for the vehicle online say 26 gal, but I've run the tank fairly low (to the last mark) and never put in more than 18 gal.

If SMB shrank the tank to add the fresh / gray / black water tanks, anyone know what the exact size would be? If I should contact SMB for this, anyone know what person to ask?

And yes I know better than to run diesel tanks nearly dry -- learned that lesson with my Jetta TDI wagon when I had to have the tank pulled and all lines cleaned. Thanks!

Our SMB is on a 2008 Sprinter chassis. Somewhere in the owners manual I thought I found reference to MB designing the fuel gauge to read empty with about 5 gallons left in the tank. This corresponds to our experience with over 100K of usage. I have run it down to empty and put 21 gallons into it. MB should be able to confirm this.
