In my experience, the sign out front typically says #2 Diesel and the pump, if labeled, typically says B5. I would say about half the time the label is there and half it is not, because of the labeling requirement I assume most of what I buy is B5.
Before somebody asks the question, Biodiesel is a fuel that is oftentimes blended into the diesel. Some (typically older) engines can run on B100, our Sprinters can not. For us, Biodiesel is an additive and B5 is the maximum MB allows.
If the pump is stand-alone and it is labeled Biodiesel I would suspect it is B100. Somebody on site at the station should know, good luck finding that person.
I believe Minnesota has a law on the books that requires B20 as the minimum. I do not know this as a fact, but if I were headed that way I would check. I left Iowa when I went off to school in the 70’s, we need a Midwesterner to chime in.
