Need Help Buying 2005 Sprinter "Airstream Westfalia" in SC

Hello,

I have been looking for some time to get a Airstream Westfalia. I have located one at Karolina Koaches in Piedmont SC and they have offered me what seems to be a very good deal (+/- $40K)(expires today?). They deal a lot in Repo units (not sure if this one is a repo.......wouldn't have expected it but these are trying times) so I am trying to find someone that may be able to look at this unit for me. Any comments or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. This is a lot of money for me so I am a little nervous.

http://www.karolinakoaches.com ...............good/bad....??

From the photo's it looks pretty good but may need some upholstery cleaned, it might be missing the TV and I don't see the table? There is a vertical metal support beside the passenger seat the may have been used for a computer/table..........any ideas. The tow hitch and the lug nuts seem to have rust so I am also concerned about rust on the under carriage......??

Maybe I should get a Sprinter Cargo Van 2005/2006 but I would need some help converting it (willing to work on it but don't have the knowledge. I welcome advice and opinions from fellow members. I would be carrying bikes (mtn/road) and golf clubs and maybe a few fishing poles. love to go to Moab when ever possible

I am in the East Bay (San Francisco)

From the extensive reading I have done on this forum the knowledge here is really great and I will be extremely grateful for any assistance! Any members of the forum live near Piedmont SC or San Ramon CA?

Thanks so much!

Tom

Nice rig
my question would be the engin

I have a V-10 and am ok with my Pompador (big ass bubble on the front)

dont know about the engin in yours or the width of left to right tires

bailing for lunch, someone will chime in

best

This rig here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6670

Looks better suited to hauling bikes, etc. The Westy looks nice, but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of area for bikes and things like that.

The table is stored under the fold out top bed to be out of the way when you drive.
In Europe I dont remember seing TV installed in the Westfalia's.

The bikes will have to be carried outside as not much place inside for that sized items..

Use RV in this market? Expires today. My BS meter goes off. Wait a week then ask them if they have unloaded it yet. Offer $35. Just a thought. Good luck.
