After years of wishing, I've put a deposit down and placed my order placed for a SMB. It will likely be about this time next year before I take delivery, so I have plenty of time for planning and shaping this out. Ive been doing a fair bit of reading in this site, it very helpful.
After taking delivery I plan to get any kinks worked out and an understanding of my vehicle based on some short/local trips. As the time is right, I'm planning 1 year trip to Mtn Bike, fish (steelhead) and generally visit this fine country we live in. (While it was many years ago, I owned a 1989 VW Westfalia and did some extended 20-30 day trips).
After visiting the Fresno manufacturing facility I ordered: Sprinter, High Roof, 6 cyln D., 4X4, 144" WB.
I recognize space will be tight (based on 144" WB) I have an initial plan design with Brian F. at SMB, which would include;
- Platform bed in rear with slide-out bike and gear storage underneath
- Internal shower & cassette toilet
- D5 Diesel Heat/Hotwater
- Microwave
- Propane Stove (2 Burner)
- 23 Gallon Water Tank
- Refrigerator - 3CF
- Exterior Shower - Rear
- Standard 4D Battery
- 2 X 100W solar panels
- Attic Fan
- Artic Cab Panels
- Thule Tracks only (Roof)
- Awning (7X10)
- Audio Video TBD
Any thoughts folks would like to share about my build would be welcome!
