Re: Saw a factory 4X4 from Europe

It is interesting how everything depends on who you get at DMV.

I've started to see more diesel conversion vehicles located in CA coming on the market over the past six months. Ones that were somehow registered in CA after the conversion, but now, with diesel inspections in place, the owners are probably concerned that someone with actual vehicle knowledge will recognize that the vehicle should have been allowed to be registered in the first place.

To me it's simple: you have emissions from two vehicles, vehicle A and vehicle B. You pull the engine from vehicle A and put it in vehicle B. Now only vehicle B is operational and putting out emissions. Seems like everyone comes out ahead since you have the engine you want in vehicle B and there are no emissions coming from vehicle A.

Herb,

Are you thinking again? Are either vehicles, government tax-credit approved hybrids? I didn't think so.

You need to see your "common sense" for what it really is - Planet killing, hate speech.

Now quick (before the nice men from the government come knock on your door), write a long, detailed apology letter to the EPA for your "misguided" planet hating ways. Then, go back to college until you "see the light"...

I so apologize. Hopefully the Government doesn't make me buy a Gov-rolet or a Chrys-federal.

I wouldn't worry. Those will be the BEST vehicles EVER.

Doubt me? Maybe now.

But soon He will wave His hand and say, "These are not the crappy cars you think they are. These are the best (and only) cars that pass all of My sweet new regulations. Buy one and be enlightened." (or words to that effect)
