Aluminess rack(s) and bicycles

We have a 2015 Ford Transit and want to put a roof rack on it. What's the consensus (?) pros & cons of the two different Aluminess racks (slats vs. perforated)?

We have a hitch-mounted cargo box already, so we'd like to put the bikes up top.

Thanks, in advance, for sharing your thoughts & experiences.

Chris

Garage
My preference on the rack would lean towards slats. Tree trash falls through easily and I'm able to spray it off the roof with a hose - or it easily blows away while driving. If you go with perforated, the leaf stems & small branches tend to get caught in the small gaps and don't wash or blow off very well...you'll have to climb up periodically to clean.

I personally am a perforated guy,as I like to sit on the roof to watch motor sports etc at different events.
Like Twoxentrix mentioned it does tend to have the small gaps, and my biggest issue is with large snow falls rather than leaf issues.

Thanks folks. That's great info. The perforated sounds good as far as being able to sit up there, but I think for the frequency with which we'd do that, and how crazy the twigs would drive me, I think I'll opt for the slatted basket.

Does perforated make noise?

I’ve heard the aluminess perforated rack makes noise when you’re driving? Anyone found this to be true? I’d like the perforated since I’ve got little ones and worry about them getting around up there..... but not at the expense of noise since it’s my daily driver. But the slats also provide more tie down points (full size spare, gear, etc.) anyone have a roof top tent with their rack? Also curious what type you’ve got.

Have been more than happy with the perforated rack ,and from what I have experienced have never had a noise issue.I do have a solar panel and weboost antenna mounted up near the front so there is the possibility that changes the dynamics of the air flow but have never noticed any issues.
Sorry can't help with the roof top tent discussion.
Cheers
