On the Transit, the side-curtain airbag mount completely to the walls, so cutting the roof open doesn't affect them.
I'm very curious how the Express is laid out too, mainly because I now own one, even though it is cargo with bags only to the B pillar.

As for the Transit you are correct CarringB but to be clear on a passenger Transit they do run all the way to the rear pillar (top rear corners) of van, rendering it basically useless for a full buildout with cabinets. I removed all of this from my Transit including the intrusive upper AC ducting on both sides.

Nowadays you can get a Transit in more configurations though.

Van work in Colorado?

Hi guys,
Can someone please help me by listing companies or people who can and will actually work on these vans?
Mine is a 2005 Chevy Express EB, and there are several things that needs to be done. I live in Colorado, but it’s not always easy to find these people, or companies! Any help at all in locating them
would be huge, as I’m unable to do major work any longer.
Thanks well in advance, and I hope you guys can help?

Boulder Off Road if it's chassis maintenance, any RV service shop if it's the rest of the van.

You'll have to travel a bit from Cotopaxi in any direction.

CCV popped the top on our 2015 Chevy Express 2500 and we love it. Plenty of room for two adults up there

Do tell, passenger or cargo? Any airbag issues?

For sure. Seems pertinent, I’d love to know as it’s something I would consider.

Our 2015 Chevy Express 2500 is a passenger van. CCV worked around the airbags and I think do so fairly routinely, so I felt comfortable going that route.
