Ditto on the 1000 mile days. I could never do that in my fords but it was more of a seat thing than a room thing.

I regularly do 1000 miles days in my ford, and it's soooo much better with the sprinter seats

sorry new guy here... figured id just throw this out there.. i work for a service company, and we have ford and chevys in our fleet.. granted they are cargo/service trucks.. from my experience with the two i can say the chevy rides and handles alot nicer than the ford.. but the ford is a more durable vehicle and lasts longer.. the chevys are too temperamental..

hence why i bought one of our ford e250s to turn into my own adventure van..

Whelp, as of two days ago, our rock solid Club Wagon popped a head gasket. Kicking it to the curb.

I've been bending an ear and an eye toward a Chevy/GMC .
I'm liking the <2007 from a ,mostly engine, mechanical standpoint.

Can honestly say I have never owned a Chevrolet product.
Looking for wisdom from you Chevy guys.

Help a brother out?

I think the Vortec engine is very good. I have a 2008 GMC with the 6 liter and 4 speed auto. Not fuel efficient, but solid. A later model with more gears would be nice.

What do you want to know?

I like the way the body is built with using vertical ribs . Should allow decent amount of insulation and ability for prewiring or even some plumbing.

An earlier post mentioned quirks with what I'm thinking is electronic?

Ive been going through lots of changes recently. ooooowning a Chevy might be one of them.

I've been using Wiki to get the particulars but nothing beats real world experiences.

I'm surprised my ford puked with only 165k but well oh well.

Triton's don't usually blow head gaskets, especially without a proceeding cause. And even then, it's rare, since they have the fail-safe cooling system.

How do you know its blown?

Really hard to see since the crossmember and right exhaust manifold is in the way.. The seeping looks like it’s at the head/block mating surface. Coolant is in the exhaust. No water/oil mix however.
No matter now. Three hrs on CL fir $100 and its gone

There was no early warning . It just started to leak. Was hoping it was a heater core.
It went from bad to worse quickly. Was able to see one freeze plug but no others .
