Disabling Rear Parking Aid in E350

Is there a way to permanently disable the beeping from the parking sensors? I went into the menu to set the Parking Aid option to Off, but it's still beeping when I put the van in reverse.

2012 Ford E-350.

I cut the cables to the „speaker“ under the rear passenger side ;-)

The speaker can be anywhere near the back bumper but will be easy to locate by the sound. Just be sure you tape the cut wires well to avoid shorts. Note that this is also a good source for power to a backup camera.

try unplugging the parking aid module, although that may throw a code

If you can figure out how to disable it via Forscan and live in Los Angeles, you can use my OBDLink MX+.

Speaking of timely, I was scrolling through emails when I remembered my hitch mounted tire carrier (Rigd) was setting of the beeping and I’ve been planning on figuring out how to shut it up. The next email was the Sportsmobile forum summary with this thread. Thanks!!!

I unscrewed the wire on the speaker which was located on the front bumper. So much better.

Send a message via Yahoo to JWA
FWIW I would speculate Ford would not allow this sort of safety signal or device to be disabled unless it would be via their own software package.
