Econoline center console compatibility

Hi my center console for my 1993 Ford Sportsmobile is rather impractical. What other years consoles can I use? I'm really motivated by drink holders. Thanks.

I'm not sure on the dog house of 93's but I've used the console from 2014's on the doghouse of 99's. Show a picture of the back side of the console. If it's the three mount points, it may be the same as everything up through 2014. I always get a multi cup holder for all the vans I flip. Seems like the 2004 and older have the single cup holder center console and the 05 and up have the 2-5 cup holder console.
Junk yards in the denver area sell them to me for $25. Ebay wants $100+ for used center consoles.

Pretty sure the doghouse change was 1996, so for you, anything earlier should work. But the 1997's and newer > 2014 are the more common ones.

Ha! Sorry but that's the way it is. I've had a few of these vans and can attest to the info above but there is hope. As stated above 92-96 are a totally different doghouse and console than 97 up. All 97 up will interchange, the best, by far, in my opinion being the 08 up ones. In my 95 van I slightly modified a Chevy console to mount on the older Ford doghouse and it worked out pretty good. The Chevy ones are usually much cheaper and easier to find as well. Not a perfect match but much more user friendly.

Unfortunately I can't find pics of it but I can assure you of this, with a little modification the Chevy one linked below works pretty well.

I'm thinking model year 1997 was the changing point as that was when the Modular Motors (4.6 & 5.4 V8, 6.8 V10) engines were introduced. Not sure the full dog house would interchange between the '96 & '97 but if they did the range of possibilities for factory-style snap in center consoles would open up quite considerably.

I also like the 2006-ish versions since the cup holders are larger, the portion closest to the floor is shorter making twisting around towards the rear area a bit easier with a factory fixed base seat. Here's an example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-FORD-V...LH_TitleDesc=0 Price is right but there are nearly new ones available if that's your preference.

HTH

Sorry for the old thread bump but this seamed like a good place to add my question.

When did Ford change the interior grey colour? I believe the final model year was a lighter grey than the early 2000 vans. I've got an '02 van and would like to install the 4 cup holder console from an '08. I can't seem to find one locally so before I spend far too much on ebay I'd at least like to confirm the grey's will match.

It’s the same. I have an ‘09 console in my ‘00.

The lighter grey was used above the belt line.

Awesome, thanks!

While I'm going to miss the storage in the bulky '02 console I just can't seem to slide my big feet, especially with winter boots on, in between the seat and console when going to the back.
