Here's some pics of ours. 2004 built by SMB North. Roof was made by Viking (No longer in business). It's a 24".

Heat Build up?

Recently replaced my 1994 Dodge B350 penthouse with a 2008 Ford E350 with hi-top. We were expecting it to hold more heat, when parked, since we were giving up all the penthouse windows, but are surprised that it holds quite a bit more heat in. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to better insulate the existing roof or other ideas? Terry

If your top is bare fiberglass then use thermozite insulation or similar and layer it. If not bare you’re gonna have to take the headliner down.If you go to my album you can see my top in the insulation process. You can do it installed as well. The more insulation the better will keep thing warmers & cooler in the end. Good luck

24" Transit Style Top

After agonizing over this top for a good year since I hadn't seen many people getting it, finally pulled the trigger. Still don't think it looks as good as the 24" Bubble Top but I wanted a flatter roof without so much loss of interior space in the rear, and the more vertical walls for deeper cabinets. And I plan to build a roof rack anyway, so any supposed aerodynamic advantage of the bubble top would be negated.

With a 3/4" floor and the 1/2" wood bonded in the top by Fiberine, there is 75.5" clearance at the barn doors and about a 1" drop to the rear doors (hard to measure because of the current platform in there).

Now if I could just remember I can stand up in there. After three years of hunching around in there I can't seem to shake the habit...

Edit: Actually now that I compare the pictures, it looks remarkably similar to the Viking top Brushogger posted. Wonder if Fiberine purchased their mold?

Did you really get a 22" top? That's my ideal size. But I only see 20" and 24" on their site.
