Help! I need to order a whatchamacallit

I tried posting a pic, but my laptop and more likely my uploading inability didn’t let me. So here’s my best shot at a description.

It’s the ”barndoor-keeper-opener”. You know that flat rod that comes out of the inner (60)door and snaps into place on the body side of the door frame? Well, I broke the internals of that piece after repeatedly forgetting to stow it away and closing the door on it. Hope someone here understands what part I’m looking for. Extra points if you got a name/part #/source to buy one! Thanks SMB community.

Braaamp! No not the talon. Got one of those for the 40-door though, great product. It’s a factory piece that’s bolted on the 60-door, hinge side. Thanks for playing @TheLetterJ.

Are you disconnecting it each time you open the door, or are you missing the little spring clip that holds it in place?

The spring is still there. What I was doing wrong was: I’d disconnect the door check and not push it into the door cavity to stow, trusting that I’d remember to gently swing the door back in order to reconnect the door check. CLANK!! is what I’d hear as I shut the door. Lo and behold I forgot to reconnect the door check again..and again..and again. $50 tuition for that lesson.

Np it was basically commode trivia for me this morning, lolol.

I guess it’s just dumb luck that mine hasn’t broke yet cause I’ve forgot to push that check into the door quite a few times now. I’ve since got into the habit of opening the door, pushing the tab to release, then before opening the door, I close it as much as I can standing there which pushes in the check past the point of the dedicated stop dimple (or whatever it’s called), then I pop it off the post. From there it’s really easy to gently push the remainder of the way into the door.

Minor hi jack: How do you lube the door checks? Mine squeak and howl as I open and close the doors.
